Fernando Utrilla

Following an initial period in the industry, they joined the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE, formerly AENOR), initially managing standardization across various engineering sectors before transitioning to lead national, European, and international R&D&I management standards (including UNE 166000, CEN/TS 16555, and ISO 56000).

Currently, they serve as UNE's primary lead for integrating standardization into research and innovation activities, with a particular focus on the Horizon Europe framework. In this role, they manage standardization across numerous funded national and European projects, deliver specialized training to universities and technology centers, and represent the organization in official European forums. Their extensive expertise in this domain led to their election as Chair of the CEN and CENELEC Advisory Board on R&D&I.
